Tree planting with B&B guests
We thoroughly enjoyed our second visit to Ruby Cottage, the boys loved their hands on experiences, collecting wood from the paddock, riding in the ute and helping put the chooks and dogs to bed at night. I can’t wait to go back again but hopefully stay longer. Such an envious environment and place to stay. Thank you so much, see you again x
My wife & I stayed there 2 nights – 3 days in mid-September, coincided with beautiful mild weather during the day and fresh & calm at night, so our walking/hiking gear got a workout during our daily bushwalks then the pot belly stove was kept stoked till we drifted off to sleep at night. The local Wirrabara pub was our choice of venue for delicious evening pub meals, and daytime we ate food we brought along and prepped in the fully kitted out kitchen. The hosts Denise & Paul are all you wish for: attentive but not intrusive, available when we had questions (first night, trying to operate the DVD), and calmly described their fruit picking, honey harvesting, history on their old cars in the sheds… all lovely & very ‘country style’. How lovely? We’ve booked to return for another weekend in late October. And we can’t wait…
Second (or is it third?) time we’re enjoyed decompressing at Taralee Orchards. Three nights/four days of bliss, day hikes along the Heysen Trail (OK – so we got a bit lost… that’s half the adventure!), one night eating at the local Wirrabara Hotel (delicious!!) and two nights cooking in, Netflix, wine and roaring pot belly. Exactly what we required during this weird COVID-19 epoch. Paul & family as always gracious hosts, unobtrusive yet accessible. We love this place and would have loved enjoying another 4 days if our businesses ran themselves. Alas… we’ll be back.
